Affogato, an Elegant Italian Dessert

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream (or vanilla gelato)
  • 2 oz espresso (2 shots), or strong brewed coffee

I love to top my ice cream with choc chips or a splash of amaretto for some extra decadence before adding the espresso.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Add 1 scoop of ice cream to a glass for an individual serving.
  2. Add chocolate shavings, choc chips or a splash of liqueur if desired.
  3. Pour 1 shot of hot espresso or strong brewed coffee over the ice cream ( a shot per scoop) and serve right away.

Serves 2

You can double or triple this recipe as many times as needed.
